A successful wedding

Your wedding should be one of the most memorable days of your life. A wedding is a big event and big events don't just happen. To make sure that the memories of your wedding are good ones, wedding planning will have to be done.

Planning a wedding takes time, so start early. You'll probably begin some planning as soon as you become engaged. Not only will starting early help you keep all the different tasks under control, remember that the most popular florists and photographers will get booked early.

Wedding event planning goes much better when you stay flexible. There are lots of details spread out over a long period of time. Don't get obsessed with the details. In the beginning, you want to be planning in broad strokes, just getting the major items nailed down. As the wedding day approaches, your wedding event planning will start to focus in more and more.

If you intend to have your wedding at the church on the corner, then your wedding planning may be simpler. But if you have in mind a wedding at some exotic location, then you'll have to do some destination wedding planning. This type of wedding will be more expensive and you may have to travel to your proposed destination more than once. You'll also have to decide whether you plan to hire local florists, bakers and photographers and take them with you, or hire suppliers at the wedding destination.

Depending on your personality, planning for a wedding can be an absolute joy or a nerve-wracking nightmare. If you're excited by the prospect of seeing all the details come together to make a perfect day, then go for it and do your own wedding planning. But, if the thoughts of planning for a wedding cause you to spiral into anxiety, then it's not worth it. Find a good wedding planner, share your dreams with them, and let them handle the details of your big day.
