The meaning of Colours

Not only have you had to choose the correct flower to portay your feelings but also the correct flower color. Although there are many differnt color traditions, certain colors have come to carry certain meanings.


Red: Traditionally, red is the color of passion, desire and love. It represents energy and joy. For some cultures, red symbolizes luck and they believe that red flowers protect them from "evil" spirits.

Pink: Pink flowers express, admiration and youth, while pink is a symbol of delicate grace.

Orange: Orange, represents enthusiasm and energy. It is a color of confidence and trustfulness.

Yellow: Some people believe that yellow is the color of jealousness and anger. On the other hand, many cultures believe that yellow flowers symbolize abundance, wealth and prosperity.

White: It is a color of innocence and purity. In some countries, white is the traditional color for wedding.

Green: Expresses harmony and balance. Green is the color of optimism and happiness.

Violet: Represents generosity and wealth. Violet flowers mean wisdom and faithfulness.

Blue: Blue is a symbol of sincere love and devotion. The custom of "...something borrowed, something blue", refers to the blue color to symbolize the devotion and love of the bride towards her future husband.
